SISman was the name given to the anthropomorphic computer mascot that appeared on the home page of [SIS](sis.rpi.edu) from 1998[^1] to 2018[^2]. SISman was popular with students both during and after his tenure on SIS, and spawned many derivative works, the most enduring of which being a drawing in the style Shepard Fairey's Obama "Hope" poster, with "hope" being replaced by "suffer."

In 2019, a petition[^3] was created to return SISman to SIS, but he has not returned.
